Douala–N'Djamena Corridor: a new agreement to streamline Chadian freight

On 14 May 2026 in N'Djamena, on the sidelines of the 5th edition of the Chad–Cameroon–Central African Republic tripartite forum, the National Shippers' Council of Cameroon (CNCC S.A) and the Chadian Shippers' Council (COC-Tchad) signed a memorandum of understanding on the modernization of the Douala–Kribi/N'Djamena trade corridor. The agreement was signed by Auguste Mbappe Penda, Managing Director of CNCC S.A, and Hamid Djoumino, Managing Director of COC-Tchad. This partnership aims to strengthen the fluidity and logistical competitiveness of this corridor, which is essential for landlocked Chad's access to Cameroonian ports. The two organizations have notably committed to strengthening the interconnection of their information systems, improving the electronic tracking of cargo, and simplifying customs procedures along the route. The Embassy of the Republic of Chad in Cameroon welcomes this development, which builds on a long-standing economic partnership between the two countries and directly contributes to facilitating the trade flows on which a large share of Chad's economic activity depends.
